Today I didn't do It
A Mother's Day Skit

 

Enter a man with brief case, coming home from work: "Honey, I'm home!"

To his surprise nobody answers; he looks about and realizes the house is a complete mess.

Man: "What's all this stuff laying around for? . . .o, my goodness, who spilled the milk on the floor? . . . (worry in his voice) What happened here?"

Two children come running through the room, screaming, knocking down things.

Man: "Hey, kids . . . kids, calm down. What is going on here? . . . Don't pull on that plant . . .(crashing sound as plant comes down). . . where on earth is your mother?

Kid: "I don't know, we haven't seen her all day."

He heads up the stairs, stepping over toys, to look for his wife, praying frantically: "O God, let her be alright, let her be alright."

He enters the bedroom to find her sitting in bed, pajamas on, a coffee mug in one hand and a book in the other. She smiles at him and says: "Hi honey, how was your day at work?"

He looks at her bewildered and asks: "What happened here today? Are you alright, honey?"

Again she smiles at him and says: "You know every day when you come home from work and ask me what I did all day?"

Man: "Yes? . . . "

Woman: "Well, today I didn't do it."
